In which I again ask

I'm in the process of writing a more hearty blog post but have a quick question (because I'm multi-tasking and also doing my online grocery shopping) mostly aimed at Hevenly Housewife (because she seems to be in the know).

Tomato Sauce in America is like tomato paste with spices and sugar sold in a can....If I remember correctly. What would be a fitting substitute for this in the UK? Tomato Sauce here is ketchup and thinking back to when I've scanned the tin isle of the supermarket I only remember seeing chopped/plum tomatoes, but nothing similar.

Suggestions are welcome and needed!

Thanks again.

Sorry, this is something i really dont know. Probably what I would do is look at the recipie and consider if i could use something like canned tomatoes or maybe even a simple spaghetti sauce. I didnt do big cooking when i lived in the US so its hard for me to answer. Also, you can go to google and type in "tomato sauce recipe" but i have a feeling if u do this, u will be cooking forever. Good luck:)

Yes, I was considering making my own but might just use a spaghetti sauce. Why are all my favorite recipes American? Thanks anyway, yet again :)

I know this wasn't aimed at me, LOL, but you can get chopped and puree them if you need to just adding spices (oregano, basil, garlic) as you go.
